Guts Poker is a game that uses many of the same elements of traditional poker, but is different enough to warrant being in a category of its own. The main identifying feature of Guts Poker is that players need to decide whether they are ‘in’ or ‘out’ of the game after every round, which is quite the opposite of traditional poker. As such, Guts Poker be classified more of a cousin to variants such a Texas Hold’em.

  1. Five Card Draw Poker. This basic game, with no restrictions on the cards needed to open or win, is sometimes known as California Draw or Guts, though Guts is also the name of another poker-like game. Because of this freedom it offers considerable scope for bluffing, especially if played for high stakes.

  4. The Guts Games are called so because it really takes a lot of nerve to play these games. The game calls for a decision made in the blind. The players have to make their declaration to stay in the hand at the same time. Once you are out, well you are out.

Guts Poker is essentially a game that involves three or fewer cards that have similar (or the same) rankings as regular poker, with multiple successive rounds. Each round has its own showdown and the pot grows rapidly, so that there is always plenty of action in a game of Guts Poker.
